With this service we offer a fix for the well known problem of the poor clearance between the cylinder of the throttle slide and the slide it self, on the body of the concentric Amal carburetor.
The fact that the slide and the body are made of the same material is leading to premature wear in this area leading to a useless and unable to tune carburetor at least at the idle to ¾ throttle openings.
The cylinder of the body is machined in order to take out any irregularities from the previous wear and be a true round again.
The slide is machined too in order to take a sleeve on the outside diameter made of Phosphorus Bronze at its full length.
During this process the locating peg on the top of the slide is removed by machining too.
A new peg will be formed at the end of the process made of Brass and will be locked in position with an M2 fastener and Loctited.
We found that the resleeving of the slide at its full length gives superior resistance to wear in conjunction with the Phosphorus Bronze material that gives an excellent bearing surface with the material of the carburetor body.
The cost of this service is 70 euros, with returning postage and PayPal fees not included in this price.
